Preschool Program at Little Pandas Playschool Contact Information

At Little Pandas Playschool we are able to offer the best of both a family child care home and a center environment. When your child attends playschool he will encounter a warm friendly home atmosphere along with the benefits of a classroom which are conducive to learning. A typical day begins with free play while waiting for other children to arrive. From 8-11:30 your child will participate in preschool activities. Both group and individual activities are provided for children to choose from. We have lunch near noon which is followed by gym play, story, and nap time. The remainder of the day is filled with free play, games, or completing projects while waiting for parents to arrive.

While we believe that learning is an ongoing process and occurs all the time Little Pandas Playschool's formal educational program is in session from September through May with breaks for Christmas and spring vacations. Our curriculum is based on folktales from around the world and other wonderful children's literature. The stories are told during circle time with the aid of props, puppets, flannel board figures, and music. Art projects and other activities that correspond with the stories are also planned. We use the Music for Little Mozarts program where children sing songs and learn about music with Beethoven Bear and Mozart Mouse. A Mandarin language component has also been implemented in our curriculum where the children learn vocabulary and simple songs related to each month's theme. Language is being taught through the use of books, videos, tapes, cds, computer programs, and on-line dictionaries.

Little Pandas Playschool is open Monday through Friday from 7:30am-5:30pm. The playschool operates year round with breaks for federal holidays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and provider vacations.
