A Family Tradition Since 1980
Little Peoples Place was founded by Linda Brehmer in Bellingham, Washington in 1980.
After spending part of her adult life in the United Kingdom, where she started her family and discovered a love for the nursery school experience, Linda returned to the U.S. and created a small childcare program centered around children, families and community.
In 1990, Little Peoples Place moved to Seattle’s Maple Leaf neighborhood, where it has remained ever since.
Carrying the Tradition Forward
Lee joined the family business more than 30 years ago and became LPP’s preschool teacher, helping shape the program through her love of art, music, creativity and early childhood.
When Linda retired, Lee became owner and director and now runs Little Peoples Place alongside her daughter, Krystal, continuing the family tradition into another generation.
Today, LPP remains intentionally small, warm and personal. Our philosophy is simple: children thrive when they feel safe, known and loved.
The relationships we build with children and their families — often lasting long after a child leaves LPP — are at the heart of everything we do.
